Step 1 Learn of Him
Read this section to understand how Jesus taught us about Peace. Can we really find more peace and if so how? A couple divorces, leaving their children brokenhearted… A husband dies young, leaving his grieving wife uncertain about the future… A company goes bankrupt, leaving employees unable to pay their bills… A best friend betrays a confidence, ruining another’s reputation… A baby is born with crippling birth defects… Life’s challenges come to us all and they will either make us resentful and angry or humble us to turn our broken hearts to God. When you face life’s greatest challenges, what will you do?The benefits of increasing our peace are well documented. Peace reduces risk for heart disease, helps us cope with stress and trauma. Contented people have more fulfilling relationships, make more money, and are more creative. Success doesn’t make people happy—happiness creates success.
We can each find peace in Christ as we focus on the present rather than worrying about the ‘could haves’ and ‘should haves’ that are out of our control. As we thank God for what we’ve been given today, we will reap the many benefits of peace and contentment today.
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success." - Herman CainStep 2 Acting on Peace
As you learn from Christ how to feel peace more abundantly, allow yourself time to give effort to the work. True, lasting change rarely comes in a moment.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. James 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
