New "Giving Board" Inspires Restaurant Patrons to Help Others in Need

Stoney’s Family Restaurant in Clarkesville, GA recently installed a “Giving Board” to help anyone in need. When restaurant patrons order at the counter, they can choose to donate something extra, from a medium drink to a whole meal. Some patrons simply donate $5. The donations are tacked up on the board, and when someone needs to use that donation, they can untack it and redeem it, no questions asked. Cashier Ruby Evans initially hung up the board hoping it would inspire generosity within the community. She explained, “We're a strong community. They’re always looking out for each other.”
