Mark 12 Jesus sat with the disciples by the treasury of the temple. Many came and went, throwing their offering into the collection vessels. There were several rich men who came and threw in large amounts of money. After a while, a poor widow came and threw in two mites, a very small amount of money. “This poor widow,” said Jesus, calling the disciples’ attention to her, “has given more than all of those who have thrown in their offering. They all gave a portion of their wealth, not sacrificing their comfort. But she in her poverty has given all that she has, her entire living.”
