Matthew 7 “Keep an eye out for false prophets,” Christ warned. “On the outside, they wear sheep’s clothing, but on the inside, they are vicious wolves.” The natural man only desires for riches and power, but the Savior hoped to teach His disciples that there is only one person to follow — Christ himself. “You will recognize them by their fruits,” He said. “Do they gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” The answer was simple. Thorn bushes do not produce grapes, neither do thistles produce figs. “Every good tree brings forth good fruit, and every bad tree brings forth bad fruit,” the Savior described. “A good tree cannot bear evil fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every evil tree that doesn’t bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” Christ gave them the warning. His followers needed to keep their eyes on the strait and narrow path to go back to our Father in Heaven. There were no wavering eyes or hearts surrounding Him, but He reminded them again. “You will be able to recognize whether a man is good or not by his fruits,” He finished. “Don’t forget it.”
