Matthew 7 The Savior’s sermon was coming to a close on the beautiful, warm day. Christ knew these people listening to all of his words were ready for their internal change. He began the conclusion of this lesson with the purpose of looking within themselves before looking at others. “Do not judge, so you will not be judged,” He stated. “Because the way you judge others, is the way you will be judged.” His disciples thought about the judgments they made about others in the past with a repentant heart. “Why do you look at the speck of dust in your brother’s eye and ignore the huge beam in your own?” He asked rhetorically. “Rather, how could you say to your brother, ‘Let me take out that speck of dust in your eye,’ when there’s a beam in your own eye?” With love, but sternness, the Savior knew this principle hit the hearts of his disciples. “You hypocrite, first take out the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck of dust from your brother’s eye,” He directed.
