"Whoever listens to my words and puts them into practice is wise"
Matthew 7 As His sermon on the mount came to an end, the Savior concluded with the following. “Whoever listens to my words and puts them into practice is wise and built his house upon a rock,” He said. “The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew, and beat upon the house, but it didn’t fall, because it was built on a rock.” The Savior’s teachings and warnings stayed true throughout His sermon. His disciples needed an internal change to live with our Father in heaven again. A surface-level change will not cut it to enter His kingdom. “However, whoever listens to my words and does not put them into practice is a foolish man who built his house upon sand,” Jesus explained. “The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew, and destroyed the house.” When the Savior finished saying these things, the people were astounded by His teachings because He taught them with authority, and not in the way the scribes would.
