Matthew 20 Jesus and His disciples, along with many followers, approached the city of Jerusalem. Christ knew that He would not leave this city again alive and that His time was quickly approaching. As the group neared the city gates, Jesus took the twelve aside to talk with them. “We are going to Jerusalem,” said Jesus. “The Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death. He will be mocked by the Gentiles, scourged, and crucified. On the third day He will rise again.”
